ABOUT ME
Seda Oturan is the founder and designer of the 25th Hour Lingerie brand. Born on June 18, 1986, Seda began her fashion design journey by successfully completing the first three years of the double diploma program conducted in collaboration between Istanbul Technical University (ITU) and The State University of New York (SUNY) Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT). Afterward, she transferred to the Fashion Design (Design Della Moda) department at Politecnico di Milano (POLIMI)
Lingerie is the art of self-expression; it is a world of fun, joy, and playfulness. No matter what you reveal to the world, your lingerie can be the clearest reflection of your true self. A woman who takes care of her lingerie is a reflection of elegance and quality.
While continuing her education in ‘Textile Technologies and Fashion Design’ at Istanbul Technical University (ITU), she worked as a Junior designer for the Monica Ricci brand and also worked as a young designer alongside Gianni Stracquadanio.
After graduating from the ‘Full Scholarship’ Image Consulting Education Department at the Istituto Marangoni Milano Design School, she continued her career by completing an internship at the globally renowned brand Calvin Klein and continued her career by completing an internship there. Following the completion of her fashion education, she pursued an additional year of fashion design studies at Istituto di Moda Burgo in Milan.
During her nine years of living in Italy, the designer, while studying at Istituto Di Moda Burgo, developed independent projects for the Rita Children’s Wear and worked as an image consultant for Dixie, one of Italy’s leading fashion brands.
Continuing her career as a Fashion Designer for the brands Ten Lingerie and Monica Ricci (BGN Group) within the framework of ITKIB, the designer chose to specialize in the Underwear and Swimwear Industry. In 2013, she established her own company as the Creative Director of the 25th Hour Lingerie & Swimwear (25th hour store) brand in Milan, Italy. In the same year, she inaugurated a Couture bespoke Lingerie Atelier and a Ready-to-Wear Underwear Store.
She also worked on exclusive collections under the Lamperti Milano brand. Moreover, she prepared underwear design collection projects for London Bridge Project Company in London and for Gualtiero Srl brand in Tunisia besides that she worked as a design consultant for an underwear brand named Elena Di Cuori (Italy).
During the pandemic, the Designer taught online educational courses on ‘Intimate Apparel Design’ at Vakko Esmod – International Fashion Academy. Additionally, she gained experience as a guest lecturer at Istanbul Technical University in the ‘Textile Technologies and Fashion Design’ department, teaching a course focused on ‘Intimate Apparel Design.’
Today, Seda Oturan continues to work as the Creative Director for her own brand, 25th Hour Lingerie, in New York, where she settled in 2021. Simultaneously, starting from 2022, she has been a part of the editorial board of the Italian ‘Fashion Life Magazine,’ serving as the Fashion Editor for the New York branch of the magazine.
The designer continues to provide collection design and freelance creative consultancy services for retail brands and private companies in the fashion industry, including outerwear, ready-to-wear, intimate apparel, and swimwear collections.
INDIVIDUAL LIFE
Early Life
Seda Oturan completed her primary, secondary, and high school education in Istanbul, Turkey. She started ballet at a very young age. Her introduction to ballet drew her into the enchanting world of art, leading to her selection by the Müjdat Gezen Art Center for her ballet and dance talent. During her education, she not only focused on dance and ballet but also designed and sewed dance costumes. At the age of 16, with her first fashion show held in Freedom Park, she combined her passion from the art center with fashion.
In addition, during middle school years, Seda made a significant contribution to her art by winning first place in a painting and poetry competition. She also received an achievement certificate from the Goethe Institute, further enhancing the recognition of her artistic talent.
Private Life
Seda Oturan, in 2022, received Water Therapy training from Oceano Salvatore and Damla Köleoğlu in Mexico and currently operates as a Water Therapist conducting one-on-one ‘Water Therapy’ sessions in various countries around the world.
Seda is a certified Yoga Instructor. She has received Ayurvedic Nutrition training from Indian instructor Sonia Kaur in Costa Rica and successfully completed Ayurveda and Yoga teacher training at the ‘Pura Veda Yoga Gurukulum’ school. She now offers both online and in-person Yoga classes in various countries.
Seda has been taking Gastro-Philosophy lessons from Ayhan Coner since 2020 due to her interest in philosophy.
Furthermore, Seda Oturan is a professional Diver, Sailor, and Captain. She has been pursuing scuba diving, one of her greatest passions while traveling the world, for 10 years. She is a true travel enthusiast, continuously exploring different cultures worldwide and discovering new places. Seda has traveled to 51 countries, including 27 in Europe, 6 in Asia and Africa, 8 in North America, and 10 in South America. She has a collection of over 500 Polaroid photographs and a collection of more than 1000 patterned napkins.
Additionally, Seda has been teaching Underwear Design and The History of Underwear as a nomad traveler for the past 4 years. She also offers online courses to students from different cultures while traveling the world.
